Real Pwnage

One thing that I think a lot of people miss is the importance of checking software that you download. I’m sure lots of people don’t do it in their mad rush to download the latest and greatest.

Apple Fun

Sounds like the old meme of bugtraq and similar lists, where peopled used to send fake "apache remote root 0day" exploits. Nowadays, it seems like the cool thing is distributing a Goatse.cx ISO image as a leaked Mac OS X release. It's still funny, but the "rm -rf /" shellcode was truly real pwnage.

So all you brave torrent folks, you might want to call a friend and do some MD5 check-summing on that Leopard disk you’re downloading, you won’t know you’ve been jacked until it’s far too late. “Saving” $120 is not worth getting your box ruined.
