Book Mania

I really, really, really love books. To the point where I will actually check out books from the Library and allow them to interfere with the reading that I am required to do for classes. Most of the time I can manage the problem by only ignoring the reading from classes that I hate.

For instance, I have to read four chapters of Programming Microsoft Visual Basic 2005: An Object-Oriented Approach for my Visual Basic course. Rather than actually doing what I’m required to do, I’ve checked out The Art of UNIX Programming by Eric S. Raymond and read that instead. I also just went to the library and found Applied Cryptography by Bruce Schneier and decided to page through it and see what I could pick up, since I’ve just started using GnuPG for encrypting and signing e-mail.

Eventually I’m just going to give up on my Java course as well and continue reading K&R. I have to keep it a secret from Rick though.
