City of Brotherly Love

First the bad:

Consumerist: CVS Employee calls a customer a “fucking aids freak.”

Probably one of the most disturbing, yet not all together unsurprising, bits of nastiness that has left the city limits. The best thing that could happen at this point is that CVS fires the employee responsible, as well as a performance evaluation for the management of the store, and pray to every deity that they can think of that they don’t get slapped with a lawsuit.

Now the good:

Nutter Announces City Bicycle Initiatives. Adding more bicycle racks around the city is a good idea, since you can see quite a few bike around the city chained to a tree or signpost, sans wheels and chains. I think the biggest issue that wasn’t addressed is how drivers and bikers in the city don’t really get along very well. I’ve got plenty of friends that have gotten into nasty accidents because of careless drivers.

Hopefully Nutter’s proposal to have a bike share will take off like car share has. I’d sign up for it in a heartbeat.
