The winning West Point team used Linux, instead of relying on proprietary products from big-name companies like Microsoft or Sun Microsystems.

Congrats to the West Point team for their excellent foresight. Perhaps they’ll go out and fix all the security problems in the US Government by kicking Windows to the curb.
